The European Union (EU) accused Russia of “disinformation” about vaccination in Ukraine. This was stated by the executive vice-president of the European Commission (EC) Valdis Dombrovskis, RIA Novosti reports.
Dombrovskis noted that the EC is concerned about the influence of Russian “disinformation” and is ready to help in the fight against it, as well as skepticism about vaccines. He stressed that vaccination in Ukraine could begin this month. It is noted that the executive vice president did not give specific examples of Russian “disinformation”.
Earlier, Dombrovskis said that the European Union will provide Ukraine with 117 thousand doses of Pfizer vaccine and from 2.2 to 3.7 million doses of AstraZeneca vaccine in the first half of 2021. He stressed that in addition to this, the European Commission will support Poland in the resale of doses of AstraZeneca to Ukraine.
On February 10, the Government of Ukraine banned the registration of Russian vaccines against coronavirus in the country. The ban also included “other medical immunobiological drugs for the specific prevention of acute respiratory disease COVID-19”, the development or production of which was carried out in Russia.
