The head of the Energy Ministry in Brussels discussed what kind of support the EU can provide to Ukraine in the coming months.
The European Union will invite Ukraine to participate in the certification process of the Nord Stream-2 gas pipeline.
This was stated by the Minister of Energy of Ukraine Herman Galushchenko following a meeting with the European Commissioner for Energy Kadri Simson.
“It has been decided that Ukraine will be invited to the certification of Nord Stream-2 when this issue reaches the European Commission. This is the official position that we heard today. I thank our partners very much, this is important,” Galushchenko said.
The minister also said that in Brussels he discussed with European partners the shortage of gas in Europe and high prices for it, the dangerous monopoly of Gazprom and the actions of the Russian Federation in the gas market.
According to him, the EU supports Ukraine’s desire to synchronize with the European energy network and disconnect from the Russian and Belarusian power grids.
“There was a very good meeting with the Ukrainian Minister of Energy Herman Galushchenko. We discussed cooperation in the field of energy security and the support that the EU can provide to Ukraine in the coming months,” Simson wrote on Twitter.

Recall that in December 2021, Germany postponed the certification of Nord Stream-2 for another six months.
