Despite the fact that the EU is not yet negotiating with the manufacturer of the Russian vaccine against coronavirus Sputnik V, it may still be registered with the association. The representative of the European Commission Eric Mamer told about the open doors for the drug from Russia, he is quoted by RIA Novosti.
“As you know, our position on the Sputnik V vaccine is such that it is necessary to distinguish between the approval of a drug on the European market and the fact that it is included in the vaccine portfolio that we are negotiating at the EU level. The European Commission and the member states did not take a decision on negotiations with the producers of “Sputnik V”. But the doors are not closed, ”he stressed.
Earlier it was reported that the European Medicines Agency (EMA) in April will send an inspection to Russia to check “Sputnik V”. The check will touch upon issues related to clinical trials and production of the Russian drug.
