“Member states decide how best to support Ukraine based on its needs. This is a member state decision. There is no decision at EU level regarding any deployment of troops or ground forces to Ukraine to participate in combat. On At this stage, there is a consensus in the EU to give Ukraine what it needs for its fight as much as it needs,” the politician said.

According to him, military support is partly coordinated at the EU level through reimbursement from the European Peace Fund for the supply of weapons to Ukraine by member states.

“EU position: we owe everything it takes to help Ukraine win its justified defense war against illegal aggression. This position has been agreed for a long time. Member States continue to renew their support commitments in various ways: economic, humanitarian, political, diplomatic,” through sanctions and the provision of military support,” emphasized Peter Stano.

Recall that NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg made an important statement regarding NATO troops in Ukraine – against the backdrop of messages coming from Western politicians. According to him, the Alliance does not currently plan to send military units to Ukraine.
