On Thursday, June 30, the European Union announced the provision of funding in the amount of 40 million euros to the Republic of Moldova in order to strengthen the potential of its armed forces, in particular in the field of communications and combating cyber attacks.

The funds will come from the European Peace Fund, which is managed by member countries outside the European budget.

Funding will provide equipment, goods and services to strengthen logistical capabilities and mobility of units of the armed forces of the Republic of Moldova va. This financial support will help fight cyber attacks and strengthen the capabilities of unmanned aerial reconnaissance and tactical communications.

In December 2021, the Republic of Moldova already received 7 million euros in funding from the European Peace Fund, in particular for its military medical service .

As you know, Moldova includes the pro-Russian separatist region of Transnistria, bordering Ukraine. Both countries have recently received the status of candidate countries for EU membership.
