The Russian Embassy in France confirmed the detention of a Russian cargo ship in the English Channel. It is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to a source in the diplomatic mission.
The interlocutor of the agency said that the embassy received an emergency call from the captain of the Russian ship, in which he informed about the detention. The Consular Section has contacted the French authorities for comment.
“The results will be reported additionally,” the diplomatic mission concluded.
The interception of a Russian dry cargo ship in the English Channel was reported by the Maritime Prefecture of France earlier on Saturday, February 26. Details of what happened were not given.
