Head of the Department of Financial Markets, PRUE G.V. Plekhanov Konstantin Ordov said that in 2022, citizens' pensions will grow. He explained how they will be indexed in an interview with Nation News.
Ordov revealed details about the increase in pensions in 2022. According to him, it will take place at the level of actual inflation, so the indexation of payments will be ten percent.
“The average consumer price index for the year is eight percent. This is the minimum by which the pension must be raised. At the same time, according to some estimates, we see that food inflation may be higher. Therefore, the pension will be indexed by ten percent. The need for additional direct financial support measures will remain, ”the economist explained.
The specialist added that the beginning of the new year can bring many surprises in different areas. He stressed that the need to raise pensions is becoming clear. At the same time, the inflation rate is ambiguous, since it depends on the calculation method.
