Rostec: tests have confirmed the ability of Covid Globulin to neutralize coronavirus

The Russian Ministry of Health has on an ongoing basis registered a specific immunoglobulin drug for the treatment of COVID-19, Covid Globulin, which was created on the basis of the blood plasma of those who had been ill. This was reported in the press service of the state corporation “Rostec”, writes “Interfax”.
It is noted that according to research results, the drug has confirmed the effectiveness, safety and ability to neutralize the coronavirus. In the course of trials, the use of “Covid-globulin” in the composition of therapy in most cases prevented the occurrence of complications of the disease in patients in the form of a cytokine storm, renal failure, thromboembolic complications, as well as the development of acute respiratory distress syndrome.
The drug was most effective when used in the early stages of COVID-19, the state corporation emphasized.
“Covid-globulin”, which was developed by the company “Natsimbio” belonging to the state corporation “Rostec”, was registered by the Ministry of Health of Russia on June 4. To create it, specialists used 2.5 tons of biomaterial from recovered Muscovites. The drug is approved for use in the treatment of people aged 18 to 60 years.
