The doctor spoke about the effect of a lack of vitamins on vision
Lack of vitamins affects the development of cataracts, night blindness and age-related changes in the eyes. The chief physician of the online laboratory Lab4U, Valery Savanovich, told Rossiyskaya Gazeta about this.
The specialist noted that for the prevention of cataracts, it is recommended to consume a sufficient amount of vitamin C. Most of this substance is found in rose hips. Various varieties of sea buckthorn, black currant, broccoli, sweet red peppers, and dill are also helpful.
Vitamin E, which has antioxidant properties, will help prevent age-related changes in the eyes, including the development of hyperopia. This vitamin is rich in sunflower seeds, almonds, hazelnuts and peanuts. In addition, half of its daily value can be obtained from 100 grams of dried apricots, dried peaches or sea buckthorn.
Deficiency of vitamin B2 leads to night blindness when a person sees poorly at dusk and at night. To avoid this, you need to add veal liver or beef kidneys to your diet.
