The couple fled to Italy.

A disgraced priest from Alabama, USA, who fled to Italy with an 18-year-old girl in the summer, has now married her.

nypost.com writes about this.

Because of this, the Vatican wants to officially expel him from the priesthood.

Alex Crow, a 30-year-old Catholic priest, married a young woman, a 2023 high school graduate, according to a marriage license filed Monday in Mobile County.

The document states that she turned 18 in June.

The teenager reportedly attended McGill-Toolen Catholic School, where Crowe sometimes taught theology classes. The couple's affair became apparent when authorities learned of a love letter she received from Crowe on Valentine's Day while she was still a student.

Crowe and the woman traveled to Europe over the summer and returned to the United States earlier this month. Crowe, already dismissed from his post, appears to have given his last sermon, Archbishop Thomas Rodi said this week.

“The recent news of Crowe's civil marriage only confirms the Archbishop's judgment. Archbishop Rodi expects that the Vatican will eventually marry Alex Crowe,” the Mobile Archdiocese said in a statement.

Rodi, in his preliminary statement, criticized the spiritual leader and said his actions “do not please the priest at all.”

“The Archbishop informed him that he could no longer serve as a priest, tell people he was a priest or dress like a priest,” he said.

However, earlier this month the district attorney announced that the criminal investigation was closed. Kate Blackwood said the young woman met with prosecutors and refused to answer any questions.

Let us remind you that the bride wants to cancel the wedding because of one prohibition from her beloved . She complained that he was demanding.
