The director of the famous Christmas comedy “Home Alone 2: Lost in New York” Chris Columbus told Insider how the current US President Donald Trump managed to play himself in one of the episodes of the film.
Columbus said that when the film crew chose the then Republican Plaza Hotel for filming, he unexpectedly put forward a condition: he must appear in the frame.
“The only way you can shoot a movie in a hotel is if I'm in a movie,” Trump told him so, according to the director.
The scene where the famous billionaire tells the protagonist, who is lost in the hotel, how to get into the hall, liked the audience at the first screening of the picture, so Chris Columbus decided not to cut it out.
