Mick Mulvaney

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, if defeated in the current election, will run for head of state in 2024. The corresponding conclusion was made by the special envoy of the United States for Northern Ireland Mick Mulvaney, who previously headed the staff of the White House. His words are quoted by the television company NBC.

The Mulvaney were asked about Trump's future in politics. “I would expect the president to stay in politics for sure. (…) He doesn't like to lose, ”the diplomat replied. He added that he would shortlist the president of the citizens who will run for president four years later.

In the United States, the counting of votes for candidates for the presidency of the country continues. Election day was November 3, but this year, due to the pandemic, voters could also vote by mail, requesting a ballot in advance. The current US president, Republican Donald Trump and Democrat Joe Biden, who served as vice president under Barack Obama, are fighting for the post of head of state. In many states, the difference between applicants is a fraction of a percent.

Mick Mulvaney served as White House chief of staff from December 2019 to March 2020. In this post he was replaced by Mark Meadows.
