Vladimir Ogryzko called this a typical case of the so-called "linguistic lapse",
Emotional slip of the tongue, which should not affect friendly relations between Ukraine and Poland, said diplomat, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine (2007-2009) Vladimir Ogryzko, a controversial statement about Crimea by the President of Poland Andrzej Duda.
Diplomat, head of the Russian Research Center Vladimir Ogryzko said this on the evening broadcast of Espresso.
Ogryzko called the Polish president’s doubts and statement regarding the de-occupation of Crimea an emotional reservation that should not affect friendly relations between the two countries. He also explained how Ukraine can act to return Crimea
He expressed the opinion that this was a typical case of the so-called “linguistic lapse,” that is, a slip of the tongue.
“He, in fact, after that he actually disavowed himself and said that in fact Ukraine should win and so on. Perhaps, after all, it was really an emotional move, an emotional mistake that should not affect the relations between the two presidents of the two countries,” explained the diplomat.
Regarding Crimea, Ogryzko noted that from the current point on the left bank to the administrative border with Crimea is 60 km.
“I don’t think that this is a task that, with proper organization, cannot be successfully completed. So, reaching the administrative border of Crimea and blocking the corridor in the south is really something that will then transfer the topic of Crimea from theory to practice “We can already see that thanks to the use of attack drones, the situation, although not as quickly as we would like, is still changing for the better,” he said.
Recall that the President of Poland Andrzej Duda expressed doubts about the de-occupation of Crimea. However, after criticizing politicians, he made a new statement in which he recalled that his position of cruelty towards Moscow’s aggression was “clear from the first day: Russia violates international law, is an aggressor and occupier.”
Meanwhile, the Ambassador of Ukraine to Poland Vasily Zvarych emphasized that Crimea is Ukraine: it is so and so it will be, and he called the temporary annexation of the Ukrainian peninsula of the Russian Federation a “war crime”, for which the aggressor country “will punished.”
Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski also responded to Duda’s statement. After the president's infamous statement on Crimea he recalled that official Warsaw recognizes the independence of Ukraine in its internationally established limits.
