Moscow. 24 August. INTERFAX.RU – Anton Gorelkin, a member of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy, Information Technology and Communications, appealed to the Ministry of Digital Science because Apple circumvented the requirements of Russian legislation on the pre-installation of Russian software when selling communications in Russia.
“Regarding the situation with Russian software on smartphones, Apple sent a request to the Ministry of the Russian Federation (and a copy to Rospotrebnadzor). He asked the departments to check the implementation by Apple of the requirements of clause 4.1 of Article 4 of the Law of the Russian Federation” On Protection of Consumer Rights, “Gorelkin wrote in his telegram -channel on Tuesday.
Earlier, the Kommersant newspaper reported that in August Rospotrebnadzor and the State Duma began to receive complaints from iPhone users that when the device is activated, the system does not allow preinstalling domestic applications and gives an error. In addition, even if they work correctly, the installation of such applications can simply be skipped. The ministry is already negotiating with Apple to fix technical problems. At the same time, experts believe that the company will continue to be able to bypass the requirements, since the ability to close the selection window does not violate the law.
