Lawyers for top managers of SDS-Ugol have appealed their arrest in the case of the Listvyazhnaya accident

Lawyers of all top managers of the SDS-Ugol holding appealed their arrest in a criminal case on the accident at the Listvyazhnaya mine in Kuzbass, where 51 people died. This was reported by TASS with reference to the press service of the Central District Court of Kemerovo.
The defendants in the case were the head of the board, director Mikhail Fedyaev, general director of the company Gennady Alekseev, its technical director Anton Yakutov and chief engineer of the Listvyazhnaya mine, Anatoly Lobanov.
“The defenders of Fedyaev, Lobanov, Yakutov, Alekseev filed appeals,” the court said.
A methane explosion in the Listvyazhnaya mine in the town of Belovo, Kemerovo Region, took place on the morning of November 25. As a result, 51 people died, including five mine rescuers who went in search of miners. 106 people were injured. One of the rescuers, Alexander Zakovryashin, who was considered dead, managed to leave the mine – he went to the rescuers himself the day after the emergency.
