Commander of the Air Defense Forces Chaiko: the first Su-57 will enter the Air Defense Forces in 2022

The troops of the Eastern Military District (VVO) will receive the first fifth-generation Su-57 fighters in 2022. The timing of the arrival of the aircraft was announced by the commander of the Air Defense Forces, Colonel-General Alexander Chaiko, during the final meeting of the Ministry of Defense of Russia. RIA Novosti reports.
“The re-equipment of the district troops will continue next year. In particular, it is planned to receive a modernized brigade set of the Iskander tactical missile system, Tornado-S multiple launch rocket systems, Mi-28NM attack helicopters and the first units of the latest Su-57 fighters, ”the head of the Air Defense Forces said.
He noted that in 2021, the Air Defense Forces received more than 800 units of modern weapons. The military received the Bastion coastal missile systems, modernized T-80BVM tanks and BMP-3 infantry fighting vehicles. According to Colonel General Chaiko, the share of modern equipment in the Air Defense Forces is 56 percent.

In November, a source in the military-industrial complex announced the planned deliveries of the Su-57. He noted that in December the Russian Aerospace Forces may receive four fifth-generation aircraft.
