The crowd booed Donald Trump and his wife

by alex

US President Donald Trump and his wife, US First Lady Melania Trump were booed by the crowd during a ceremony held at the country's Supreme Court building, where the couple arrived to pay their respects to the late Judge Ruth Bader Ginsburg. The Daily Mail reports.

“Respect her wishes,” the crowd shouted as the Trump couple stood at the top of the stairs at the Ginsburg's coffin draped with an American flag. The phrase is a reference to a judge's dying wish, who wanted her successor to be named the winner of the November presidential election.

Trump, in turn, questioned Ginsburg's similar desire, noting that it was written by a Democrat. The President of the United States said that behind this is the leader of the Democratic minority in the Senate Chuck Schumer, the Speaker of the US House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi or the chairman of the House Intelligence Committee Adam Schiff.

On September 21, Trump decided to appoint a Supreme Court judge soon, against the wishes of the Democratic Party.

Ginsburg was nominated to the Supreme Court by the 42nd President of the United States, Bill Clinton, and was considered the leader of the liberal wing in the court. Prior to her death in the Supreme Court, conservatives had the upper hand. Should Trump succeed in promoting the desired candidacy, it turns out that six of the nine judges were appointed by Republican presidents. The head of the White House pointed out that he wants to choose a woman to succeed Ginzburg.

Democrats spoke out sharply against such actions, since, according to the American Constitution, it is the US Congress that determines the number of judges of the Supreme Court.

Ruth Bader Ginsburg passed away on September 19 at the age of 87. The judge named the cause of death as complications arising from pancreatic cancer. It was reported that a few days before her death, Ginzburg told her granddaughter that most of all she wanted to live until the November presidential elections, so that in case of her death, the next president would take the vacant position.

Relations between Trump and Ginsburg were not developing in the best way: while still a presidential candidate, he demanded the resignation of the judge, and she said that she “cannot imagine what will become of the country” if Trump becomes president.
