The expert recalled that since March of this year, any data left by citizens on social networks has become their personal data, so the law gives them the right at any time to demand to stop their distribution. Nevertheless, the law also has a downside, since any careless statement can entail serious liability, and everything written on the network can be used against the user.
“Now records in social networks have become much more real than paper documents,” – quotes the words of the specialist to the agency “Prime”.
According to Antipov, all data will be stored on the network for at least three years, while anonymity will not be possible even if the name and surname are changed, and all accounts linked to you can be found by phone number.
The specialist said that the most common topics, careless statements on which can cause problems, are religion, politics, conspiracy theories, sex minorities, gender identity, feminism and body positivity. Antipov advises users to always remember that the Internet stores everything and never forgets anything.
