The Arbitration Court of the Krasnoyarsk Territory has postponed the preliminary court hearing to consider the claim of the Federal Agency for Fishery against the subsidiary of Norilsk Nickel, the Norilsk-Taimyr Energy Company (NTEK), for 58.7 billion rubles. RIA Novosti reports.

“In connection with the satisfaction of the defendant's petition in order to prepare an amicable agreement, the preliminary hearing was postponed until February 18, 2022,” the court said.

In early August, the arbitration court of the Krasnoyarsk Territory accepted for consideration the claim of the Federal Agency for Fishery against NTEK for 58.7 billion rubles. Such damage after a fuel spill is due to the death of fish and the cost of restoring aquatic biological resources.

On March 10, Nornickel announced that it had fully paid 146.2 billion rubles as compensation for the accident at the CHPP. The payment was made on the basis of the decision of the Arbitration Court of the Krasnoyarsk Territory dated February 12, which partially satisfied the claim of Rosprirodnadzor against the subsidiary of Norilsk Nickel, the Norilsk-Taimyr Energy Company (NTEK).

At the end of May 2020, an oil spill was recorded at TPP-3 in Norilsk. As a result of the depressurization of the tank, 20 thousand cubic meters of diesel fuel spilled out of it. Rosprirodnadzor estimated the damage at 147 billion rubles for water bodies and almost 739 million rubles for soil.
