The court fined Google 5.5 million rubles for refusing to remove prohibited content

The Moscow Magistrates' Court fined Google twice a day for refusing to remove prohibited content. The amount of the first fine was 4 million rubles, the second – 1.5 million, the press service of the court said.

On Tuesday, August 17, the court will consider three more administrative protocols against the American company, reports TASS.

As the website kp.ru wrote, at the end of July 2021, a court in Moscow fined Google three million rubles in a case of violating Russian legislation in the field of personal data. The corporation refused to localize user databases in Russia. This was Google's first fine for such a violation.

In May 2021, the Magistrates' Court of the Tagansky District of the capital fined Google four million rubles for refusing to delete information prohibited in Russia. In addition, the company was fined 3.5 million rubles for insufficient filtering of search results.
