The court fined Facebook, Telegram and Twitter for refusing to delete data
Facebook, Telegram and Twitter were fined today for refusing to delete data. This was reported to RIA Novosti by the press service of the Tagansky Court of Moscow.
The company drew up protocols under parts 2 and 4 of article 13.41 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation “Violation of the procedure for restricting access to information”. Social networks were supposed to remove posts that contained calls to participate in massive uncoordinated events, but they did not. In five cases, Facebook was fined by a magistrate 21 million rubles, Twitter and Telegram under two protocols – 5 and 9 million rubles, respectively.
Since the beginning of the year, Facebook has been fined more than 80 million rubles, Twitter – 45 million rubles, while this amount does not include fines for refusing to localize user data from Russia, Telegram was fined 35 million rubles during this time.
Earlier, for refusing to remove calls to participate in uncoordinated actions, penalties were imposed on TikTok, VKontakte, Odnoklassniki and Youtube.
