The court decided to ban Samsung from selling 61 models of smartphones in Russia

The Moscow Arbitration Court has banned the Korean company Samsung Electronics and its Russian subsidiary from importing and selling more than 60 models of smartphones in Russia. This is stated in the published operative part of the additional decision of the court.

“To prohibit the import into the territory of the Russian Federation, the offer for sale, sale and storage for these purposes of devices intended for the use of the Samsung Rau payment service, during the operation (operation) of which, in accordance with their purpose, a patented method is automatically carried out, protected as an invention under a patent RF No. 2686003 “, – the document says.

The ban included 61 models of Samsung smartphones, including the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip with a flexible screen and the “flagship” Samsung Galaxy S21.

A lawsuit against the Korean company was filed by the Swiss “Squin SA” for using the invention under patent No. 2686003 without the consent of the copyright holder. This is a patent entitled “Electronic Payment System”, which describes “a method for conducting an online payment using a mobile device of a buyer and a cash register system of a seller, which are connected by wireless connection of any known standards and protocols.”
