During his visit to St. Petersburg, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko presented his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin with a basket of Belarusian products for a total of about 8,000 rubles. Lenta.ru has calculated the approximate cost of a New Year's gift based on data from online services for the delivery of groceries and goods.

All meat products presented in the basket turned out to be produced by the Grodno Meat Processing Plant. In particular, several long loaves of uncooked smoked sausage (each about 400 grams) “Milano” (about 6 pieces at 440 rubles) and “Italian” (1 piece at 460 rubles).

In addition, the set contains about four loaves of sausages “Meat Duet”, “Meat Caprice” and “Kindyuk” – each about 500 grams and costing 625 rubles.

Finally, the basket contains raw smoked sausage “Grodzenski prysmak” (1 piece of 600 grams – 716 rubles) and homemade dry-cured polandvica “Novaya” (1 piece of 800 grams each – 920 rubles).

In addition, in the gift set for the President of Russia there is a Gouda cheese cut (150 grams) from Brest-Litovsk for 172 rubles, a Russian cheese cut of the same brand (150 grams) for 158 rubles and a Vyrozhny cheese ( 150 grams) for 130 rubles. The basket also contains Bonfesto mascarpone cheese, which costs from 269 rubles per 250 grams. The set also included Savushkin brand brine cream cheese Sveza worth 209 rubles per 150 grams.

Thus, the total cost of the gift basket for Putin was at least 8174 rubles.

At the same time, the price of the second gift from the Belarusian president, a set from the Neman glass factory in the Grodno region, reached about 28 thousand rubles. It includes a set of six crystal glasses with a colored leg (8.4 thousand rubles), a similar set of wine glasses (8.5 thousand rubles) and two crystal candlesticks of cobalt color (5560 rubles each).

Negotiations between Putin and Lukashenko took place on Wednesday, December 29, in St. Petersburg. The meeting of the leaders of the two states lasted three hours within the walls of the Constantine Palace. As part of the event, the politicians agreed to deepen cooperation between Russia and Belarus in the military sphere. In particular, they announced that they would continue to conduct joint military exercises on the territory of Belarus, proposals for which have already been received from Minsk to Moscow.
