The telephone conversation between the presidents of Russia and the United States, Vladimir Putin and Joe Biden, which took place on December 30, can be reduced to two phrases. They were named by the editor-in-chief of the radio station “Echo of Moscow” Alexei Venediktov, reports the Telegram-channel “Told on Ekhe”.
“If the Biden-Putin conversation can be reduced to two phrases:“ If you climb into Ukraine, we will announce new sanctions for you that will strangle you ”-“ And then we will break off relations with you. ” That's all, that's the whole conversation, ”he said.
According to Venediktov, the presidents of Russia and the United States have confirmed the seriousness of their intentions. “Not the seriousness of the intention to seize Ukraine or exchange nuclear strikes there, but the readiness to do serious things,” explained the editor-in-chief of Echo of Moscow.
The telephone conversation between Putin and Biden began on December 30 at 15:35 Washington time (23:35 Moscow time) and ended at 16:25 (00:25 Moscow time on Friday, December 31). During the conversation, the US President warned his Russian counterpart about the inadmissibility of an invasion of Ukraine and about the high price that Moscow could pay for this. Putin, in turn, promised to sever relations with the United States in the event of “large-scale” sanctions.
