The head coach of the Russian national hockey team Alexey Zhamnov positively assessed the work of the general manager of the team Ilya Kovalchuk. His words are transmitted by RIA Novosti.
“Kovalchuk is in his place, completely immersed in the process, there was no mistake in it. Probably, this is what he likes himself. From what I see, it is bearing fruit,” Zhamnov shared. The coach noted that the manager is completely immersed in work and solves all organizational issues in the sports part. “He’s a business guy!” — Zhamnov described Kovalchuk with such a phrase.
On December 18, it was reported that Kovalchuk was appointed to the position of general manager of the Russian national team. On October 19, it became known that he also took the position of manager for working with players of the National Hockey League (NHL).
The Russian national team will play the Czech Republic, Switzerland and Denmark in the group stage of the Olympic tournament. The national team will play its first match against the Swiss on February 9.
