The Tiktopers database, a platform for promoting an account on TikTok and Instagram, turned out to be openly available on the Web. In total, more than 5100 lines were found with email addresses, phone numbers and encrypted passwords of the platform's clients. This was announced by Ashot Hovhannisyan, the author of the “Information Leaks” channel. According to him, 82% of passwords and email addresses were unique.
As Hovhannisyan recalled, the largest leak with data from bloggers occurred in 2014 at LiveJournal. It affected 33.7 million users, Kommersant noted.
Tiktopers has assured that user data is unreliable. “Personal data of bloggers, including personal phone numbers, is stored outside the site's server. All user passwords in the database are encrypted, ”the service noted. They added that the number of attacks “from ill-wishers” is growing, but no demands from hackers have been received.
Andrey Shveidel, head of the direction for work with opinion leaders of the Isobar Moscow agency, explained that for reliable data protection it is necessary to use two-factor authentication.
The information that the platform has lost or that has been stolen from it belongs to a commercial secret, said Kirill Galichev, managing partner of the law firm GK Legal. It is about information that gives income to the organization.
“In such cases, the platform's losses are the amounts of income that will not be generated as a result of customer churn,” he added.
Alexander Pochuev, President of the Moscow International Bar Association “Pochuev, Zelgin and Partners”, said that responsibility for such a leak could be criminal. In addition, Roskomnadzor may fine a company that does not ensure the safety of data. According to him, in practice, due to the fact that it is difficult to prove guilt, fines rarely exceed 20,000 rubles.
Earlier, “Secret” wrote that the personal data base of hundreds of thousands of clients of the Telegram bot “Eye of God”, which is considered one of the largest data penetration services in Russia, was leaked to the Network.
