The Boston Dynamics robot dog is available to private buyers, but not everyone can afford it. Chinese experts decided to satisfy the requests of dog lovers and presented a budget version of a robotic dog, the characteristics of which are described on the website of the manufacturer MangDang .
Externally, the Mini Pupper robot is similar to its American relative, it is a rectangular body with four legs, alternately coming off the surface. Instead of a muzzle, he has an LCD display on which you can display emoticons. But in size, the Chinese puppy is much inferior: its length is 209 millimeters, its width is 109 millimeters, and its height is 165 millimeters, the robot weighs only 560 grams.
The robotic puppy is equipped with an 800 mAh battery, its charge lasts for 25 minutes of active work. He can run and jump. The device is developed on the basis of the Raspberry Pi 4B microprocessor, with which the “friend” can be programmed for personal purposes using additional modules. For example, he can be trained to navigate the terrain using GPS and avoid obstacles on the way, track objects.
For comparison, the Spot from Boston Dynamics robopod will cost about $ 75 thousand, while the Mini Pupper costs only $ 589.
Recall that in June 2021, the Chinese company introduced a competitor to the Boston Dynamics robop, which is almost 30 times cheaper than the original.
