The Chinese satellite company Spacety, blacklisted by the United States, was transmitting satellite images to militants of the Russian private military company Wagner.
This was stated by US Assistant Secretary of State for East Asia and the Pacific Daniel Kritenbrink at a congressional hearing, informs The Guardian.
According to the US Department of the Treasury, Spacety China handed over to the Russian side satellite images of Ukraine taken using a synthetic aperture radar. These pictures were supposed to help the militants of the Wagner PMC.
The company was added to the US trade blacklist for supporting the Russian military along with another Chinese satellite company, China HEAD Aerospace Technology Co.
Spacety management stated that the company complies with international sanctions against Russia and does not maintain ties with the aggressor after the introduction of restrictions.
Earlier, NBC reported that China could provide Russia with artillery and ammunition. The American CIA also suggests that China may send lethal weapons to Russia in the war against Ukraine.
