Doctors were stunned when they discovered that a woman suffering from abdominal pain Without knowing it, I was 23 weeks pregnant.

Mirror writes about this.

For ten days, a 37-year-old woman from the French island of Reunion developed strange abdominal pain and bloating. As a result, realizing that she needed medical attention, the woman went to the hospital, where medical experts carried out a scan. And they couldn't quite believe what they had discovered.

In her abdominal cavity, located between the stomach and intestines, a “normally formed” fetus was growing. This is known as an ectopic pregnancy, which almost always results in the loss of the baby. However, miraculously, the baby was successfully delivered at 29 weeks, and three months later the mother and her newborn were discharged from the hospital.

The surgeons' efforts were stunning considering that the baby was developing rapidly in the abdomen, which is the area that contains vital organs, and the placenta was attached to the top of the pelvis. Ectopic pregnancies are rare but occur when the fetus begins to grow in the fallopian tubes, which play a key role in transporting eggs from the ovaries to the uterus. As pregnancy progresses, they can rupture, which, unfortunately, leads to the fetus “escaping” into the cavity. The likelihood of this happening is very low: only one in 30,000 occurs in the abdominal cavity. The chance of losing a child in this case reaches 90%. And those who survive have a one in five chance of having birth defects or brain damage.

In this case, the woman went to France to get medical help. After making their discovery, doctors made sure to wait until the 29th week of pregnancy to give the baby the best possible chance of survival.

This ultimately led to a long five weeks for the mother, who was very afraid of losing her baby. Although doctors were able to deliver the baby right away, survival at 24 weeks is only 68%, compared with a much higher 80-90% at 29 weeks. Using their skills, doctors made an incision in the woman's abdomen before placing their patient's baby in the neonatal intensive care unit, resulting in an incredibly successful birth.

Less than two weeks later, she returned to medical experts to remove the remaining placenta. A woman who had previously suffered a miscarriage was overjoyed to welcome her baby into the world, taking the baby home to meet her two other children who were eager to meet their new family member.

Recall that a pregnant woman who was banned from having an abortion in Texas moved to another state. Her baby may still be born.
