The Bank of Russia does not plan to introduce new reporting for banks to control the transactions of individuals, TASS reports. The work carried out by the Central Bank does not imply total control over operations, they said there.

The regulator noted that we are talking about countering payments that are carried out by illegal businesses to illegal online casinos and financial pyramids. “We plan to collect anonymized data from those banks that provide p2p payment services only if there is a risk of using their platforms for illegal operations of online casinos and bookmakers,” the Central Bank said.

This is how the Bank of Russia reacted to the information about taking control of all money transfers of Russians, as RBC previously wrote about. The publication claimed that the regulator will control all transfers of funds between individuals, requesting information on them from banks, including personal data.

Deputy Chairman of the Board of Sovcombank Oleg Mashtalyar clarified that the Central Bank will begin monitoring money transfers from January next year. He noted that the main purpose of introducing new reporting forms is to optimize the presentation of data by banks and to obtain up-to-date information on payment services.
