The cause of the destruction of a house in Belgorod has become known – CIT investigators

Russian ammunition probably hit the house.

Russian Ministry of Defense version that the entrance to a high-rise building in Belgorod 12 May destroyed a fragment of the downed Ukrainian Tochka-U missile, it is unlikely, the Conflict Intelligence Team believes.

The house was most likely hit by Russian ammunition, CIT founder Ruslan Leviev said on the YouTube channel of journalist Michael Naki on Monday, May 13.

After analyzing photo and video materials from Belgorod, investigators came to the conclusion that, with a high probability, the building was hit from the northeast. According to Leviev, this direction of impact is indicated, in particular, by the fact that the windows in the building were broken out on the north-eastern side, while on the opposite side, facing Ukraine, the windows remained intact. “The version that a missile from the Ukrainian Tochka-U could change its trajectory under the influence of an air defense missile in such a way as to strike from this side of the house seems unlikely to us,” the founder of CIT emphasized.

“Given the direction of arrival, one of the most obvious versions is a hit by an anti-aircraft guided missile, for example, from the S-300 complex. Characteristic traces of scattered fragments may not be visible due to the scale of the collapse. We admit that the warhead of such a missile may be sufficient to collapse the entrance,” Leviev said.

Another “fairly obvious version,” according to him, is the emergency convergence of the FAB-250 or FAB-500 aerial bomb from the universal correction and planning module (UMPC). “This version is supported by the fact that shortly before the explosion it was reported that gliding bombs were launched in the Kharkov region,” said the founder of CIT.

“It is still impossible to establish for sure what kind of ammunition hit the house, however, most likely, this happened due to the actions of the Russian side,” Leviev summed up.
