Alexey Arestovich, Advisor to the Head of the President's Office, believes that the Russian Federation will not mobilize.
He believes that in the Russian Federation, military registration and enlistment offices are specially set on fire, to burn “cases” Russians who are subject to mobilization.
An adviser to the President's Office told this opinion in an interview with Russian human rights activist and lawyer Mark Feigin on Thursday, May 5.
“Why do servicemen smoke? Documents are burned there. How to summon you, if it is not clear who you are and whether you exist at all. That is, a Russian who burns down a military registration and enlistment office saves himself from the prospect of mobilization. So they counted how many military offices burned down, apparently, expressed concern and therefore began to make different statements,” Arestovich said.
Note that Conflict Intelligence Team analysts do not record serious steps in the Russian Federation towards the announcement of mobilization. At the same time, they note that in different regions of the country, Russians are called to military registration and enlistment offices to “clarify data” and offer to sign a short-term contract.
Recall, according to military expert Oleg Zhdanov, Putin's announcement of general mobilization in Russia on May 9 unlikely.
