The British Ministry of Defense has published a map showing the directions of the main attacks of Russian troops during the “invasion” of Ukraine. The image was published in the official Twitter account of the defense department.

The map titled “President Putin's Possible Axis of Invasion” shows a diagram showing the phases of the Russian ground forces' offensive. The first phase includes the “invasion” of Kiev and the Dnieper, from the Crimean side along the Azov coast and from the territory of Belarus to Kiev. The second phrase provides for movement from the Dnieper to Vinnitsa, as well as from the Crimea towards Odessa.

“Russia maintains [near Ukraine] a significant military presence, with the help of which it is possible to carry out a surprise invasion,” the British department wrote in a comment.

Earlier, US Ambassador to the UN Thomas-Greenfield announced signs of an imminent “invasion” of Ukraine. She also added that US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken will come up with a plan to reduce tensions in Europe at a meeting of the UN Security Council.

On February 17, it became known that the United States did not believe in the withdrawal of Russian troops from the border with Ukraine and set a new invasion date for February 20. Michael Kofman, an expert on the Russian armed forces, pointed out that it is the actions of the Russian troops after the end of joint exercises with Belarus on these dates that will help to understand the true intentions of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
