Prince Harry and Meghan Markle

Almost half of Britons (47 percent) called the statements of Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle inappropriate in a frank interview with American TV presenter Oprah Winfrey. This is evidenced by the survey data of the YouGov company, available on its website.

Every fifth respondent adheres to the opposite opinion, almost a third of citizens found it difficult to answer the question. At the same time, 31 percent of respondents do not feel sympathy for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex after the interview, another 23 percent of the British do not really sympathize with them. Sympathy for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, in turn, said 29 percent of the inhabitants of the kingdom.

At the same time, 16 percent of respondents have a significant sympathy for the royal family, 23 percent to a sufficient extent. Not much or not at all, 25 and 20 percent, respectively.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's interview came out on Monday, March 8th. During the conversation with the TV presenter, the Duchess of Sussex hinted at racism in the British royal family. For example, some of the members of the dynasty during her first pregnancy showed concern about the skin color of her future son. She also admitted that she had previously thought about suicide.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have ceased to act as members of the British royal family on April 1, 2020. To be eligible to move to the United States, work and do business, they had to give up the Your Royal Highness, government funding and the Sussex Royal brand. After signing an agreement with the video service Netflix, they achieved financial independence from the royal family.
