In Kiev, a man appeared before the court, who died before the death of his acquaintance. To avoid responsibility, he wrapped the body in a carpet, and then buried it in the yard of his house.
According to the decision of the Svyatoshinsky district court, the man will spend the next seven years in prison. He fully admitted his guilt in what he had done.
The story of the murder
The incident occurred in the spring of 2018. At this time, a woman contacted the police, saying that her 51-year-old man had disappeared and stopped contacting.
During the priority investigative actions, a close circle of acquaintances of the missing man was interviewed and all suspicions fell on his good friend.

Then another 33-year-old man was confused in the versions, and then he confessed everything. The suspect himself invited the police to his yard and showed the place where his friend is buried. It happened two years after his death.
At my house… they were drinking alcoholic beverages. I remembered him for the debt, because we had a situation… He gave me 500 hryvnia, and we went for more vodka. Then I tell him: but it’s not this debt that was actually there. He grabbed me by the throat, and I grabbed a knife and stabbed him in the leg. Let’s go, bandaged the leg, healed, treated with peroxide, everything is as it should be. I asked him— “You’re not going to the police after that, is everything okay?” He replied that everything was fine. We sat on and drank. We drank on the horse, let’s go… And finally, I reminded him again for the debt. So he grabbed me by the throat again, and I hit him back. He fell, I kicked him two or three times. In the morning I get up, look – and he is already blue. There was a corpse lying there. I was very scared… covered it with slate, waited until it got dark, dug a hole and buried it. In my yard.
Initially, criminal proceedings were opened under part 1 of Article 115 (Premeditated murder) Criminal Code of Ukraine.
After processing all the case materials, the actions of the defendant were reclassified to Part 3 of Article 135 (Leaving in danger, resulting in the death of the victim) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The man was found guilty and sentenced to seven years in prison.
