The body of the deceased illegal migrant was found on the border of Belarus and Poland. Presumably, he came from Nigeria, RIA Novosti reports, citing the police in the Podlaskie Voivodeship.
The man's body was found in the forest in the Olkhovka area of the Narevsky district, about nine kilometers from the border of Belarus. He had a backpack and a Nigerian passport with him. The possible cause of death has not yet been named, the body has already been transferred to forensic experts who will find out.
Since the beginning of 2021, nine bodies of illegal immigrants have been found on Polish territory. The border guards also recorded about 40 thousand attempts to illegally cross the border. This is ten times more than in 2020. The Polish authorities and representatives of other EU countries believe that the Belarusian authorities are to blame for the outbreak of the crisis, provoking an influx of migrants.
