According to journalists, at present the longest journey of the forest bat, which was recorded by scientists, is the flight from Latvia to Spain (2,224 km). The bat that died near Pskov turned out to be the record holder for the longest flight among its relatives in Britain.
The discovery of forest bats in Russia is essential for understanding migration routes and the impact of climate change on them, British scientists say.
Recall that in May, the staff of the Moscow Zoo's rehabilitation center released bats, which were rescued by caring people during the cold season.
