The newborn child of the Russian woman Tatyana Safonova became a Russian: the Russian Embassy in Madrid issued him citizenship. RIA Novosti writes about it.

According to the embassy, he was also given a passport – this is necessary for the sake of protection from the social services of Spain, who want to take the baby away from the Russian woman. Safonova turned to the embassy for help, she was accepted out of turn. At the reception at the consular department, Safonova was also advised to seek help from lawyers.

The Russian embassy has already contacted the Spanish guardianship authorities: they, in turn, provided reasons for their actions. Details of the situation were not disclosed, but the diplomatic mission promised to monitor the situation and provide assistance to Safonova. The Council for Equality and Social Policy of the government of Andalusia refused to comment on what was happening, citing the laws of the country.

On September 27, the 74.RU website wrote that Tatyana Safonova, a native of the Chelyabinsk region, gave birth in the Spanish city of Jaen. She did not have time to fly home before giving birth. Soon after the birth of the child, representatives of social services in Spain announced that they wanted to take him away, since they considered Safonova an “unsuccessful mother.” She claims that foster parents have already been found for the baby.
