Representatives of the Kazakh authorities in Kostanay went to the protesters to listen to their demands. The recording of the incident was published by REN TV on its Telegram channel.
It is noted that the akim (head of administration) of the city Kairat Akhmetov met with the protesters. One of the protesters told him that people were tired of the difficult economic situation in the country.
Earlier it became known that the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, against the background of protests, introduced a state of emergency (state of emergency) in the capital of Nur-Sultan.
On January 2, protests against the rise in fuel prices began in Kazakhstan, and on January 4, protesters clashed with security forces on Republic Square in Alma-Ata. Law enforcers used tear gas and stun grenades to disperse the protests.
