According to him, the Russian government lies not only to its citizens, but also to soldiers whom the Kremlin convinces that they are going to fight the Nazis.

American actor and former governor of California Arnold Schwarzenegger addressed the Russian people. In his message, he says that people in the Russian Federation are being deceived by the government.

The response video hit social networks.

In his address, the actor gives an example of how in childhood met Russian weightlifter Yuri Vlasov. The athlete made a great impression on him – he even hung his poster at home. After that, after a while, Schwarzenegger repeatedly came to Moscow for competitions and filming. And that is why he wants to reveal the truth to the Russians.

“I know that your government is telling you that this war is for the denazification of Ukraine. It is not true. Ukraine is a country with a president of Jewish origin. Ukraine did not start this war. It was not started by nationalists or Nazis. Those in power in the Kremlin started it. This is not a war of the Russian people. The world has turned its back on Russia because of Russian actions in Ukraine,” Arnold Schwarzenegger emphasized.

He also added that the Russian government is lying not only to its citizens, but also to soldiers whom the Kremlin convinces that they going to fight the Nazis.

“Russian soldiers faced desperate resistance from Ukrainians who want to protect their families and their country – that's a fact. When I watch how small children are pulled out of the ruins, it seems to me that I am watching a documentary about the horrors of the Second World War, and not modern news,” Schwarzenegger emphasized.

At the end, he called on Putin to stop the war and withdraw his troops from Ukraine, and also thanked the Russians who came out to anti-war rallies.
