In Moscow, the construction of the main structures of the fourth floor of the 47-storey tower of the National Space Center (NCC), which is planned to house the Mission Control Center (MCC) of Roskosmos, is nearing completion. Andrey Bochkarev, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Urban Development Policy and Construction, spoke about the intermediate stages of the construction of the facility on Thursday.
“To complete the main structures of the fourth floor of the high-rise part of the NCC, it remains to complete the overlap between the floors. The floor, walls and columns of the main structures on the floor have been completed in full, ”the vice-mayor said.
NCC is being built on the territory of the State Space Research and Production Center named after M.V. Khrunichev in the Filyovsky Park area in the west of the capital. The total area of the complex of buildings will be 250 thousand square meters. m. They are planned to house the central office and situational center of the State Corporation “Roskosmos”, an educational center, the headquarters of organizations of the rocket and space industry, etc. … The tower is planned to house the Roskosmos Mission Control Center.
According to Bochkarev, at the moment about 8.5 thousand cubic meters of concrete have been laid in the structure of the tower, which is 17% of the total planned volume of the monolith of the entire skyscraper. More than 700 people are working on the construction of the facility, he said.
Monolithic work in the low-rise part of the NCC building complex is almost 95% completed, said Yuri Kravtsov, General Director of Mosinzhproekt (the engineering holding is the management company for the construction of the facility). The installation of metal floors in the gallery area of the future space center is 90% complete, he added.
“The construction of the 288-meter high-rise dominant of the National Space Center is being carried out using a self-climbing formwork system. According to the technology, all the equipment needed to carry out concrete work around the clock is located on a single platform. In order to ensure safety at high altitudes, protective fencing screens are provided on the platform, ”said Kravtsov.
The construction of the NCC is being carried out by the Moscow government jointly with the state corporation Roscosmos on behalf of President Vladimir Putin. It is planned to complete the center in late 2022 – early 2023, Bochkarev said recently. The authorities are going to develop not only the National Space Center itself, but also the entire adjacent released territory of the Khrunichev Center with an area of 90 hectares. It is expected that a special economic zone will appear here, where enterprises of the research and production cluster will be located. The creation of a congress and exhibition center, renovation facilities, and the development of social and transport infrastructure are also being considered.
