The Turkish Prosecutor’s Office has launched an investigation against the authors of offensive comments under the post of President Recep Erdogan that he and his wife had contracted coronavirus. This is reported by TASS.

One of the suspects has already been detained in Istanbul. He is accused of publishing provocative and offensive content. The messages in the social network were considered sufficient for the composition of the crime.

On February 5, Erdogan and his wife fell ill with COVID-19. According to the president, he was diagnosed with an omicron strain. Nevertheless, the Turkish leader said that he feels well and intends to continue working from home.

It is reported that Erdogan was vaccinated against coronavirus in 2021. He was vaccinated with a Chinese vaccine from Sinopharm, and then revaccinated with Pfizer-Biontech.

The Turkish leader and his wife Emine Erdogan had previously visited Kiev. In the capital of Ukraine, Erdogan held talks with President Vladimir Zelensky, including communicating with him in private.
