Pentagon response Russia’s use of nuclear weapons in Ukraine may not be nuclear, but the United States will deal a crushing blow to the Russian Federation.
In particular, Russian military bases in the occupied Crimea may be destroyed.
This was stated by the former commander of US forces in Europe, Lieutenant General Ben Godges, reports The Daily Mail.
He considers the threat of a nuclear strike on Ukraine very unlikely. Nevertheless, Gojes assured that any use of weapons of mass destruction will be a quick and tough response from US President Joe Biden.
According to the American general, Russian President Vladimir Putin is aware that that the US will respond.
“Perhaps the US response will not be nuclear, but destructive enough, for example, to destroy the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation or Russian bases in Crimea. Therefore, I believe that Putin and his entourage do not want a direct clash from the United States,” said Godges.
Recall that on September 21, Putin said that the “collective West” was allegedly fighting against Russia and threatened the world use of nuclear weapons.
