In the middle of the working week, the operation of the public warning system will be checked in St. Petersburg. The test run will take place as part of a due diligence on Wednesday 6 October.
Specialists of the Informatization and Communication Committee warned the residents of the city about the upcoming launch of sirens. The press service of the department clarified that this time the annual events will be held from 10:35 to 10:44.
“During the check, electromechanical sirens, street loudspeakers, specialized technical means of notifying individual organizations associated with the city system will be turned on throughout the city. TV channels and radio stations will also be involved,” the relevant department said.
At the first stage of the comprehensive check (from 10:35 to 10:37), a voice message will sound about the start of preventive measures, and at the second (from 10:40 to 10:43), a warning signal “Attention to all!” Will be given, which will be accompanied by the launch electromechanical sirens. The signal will be broadcast by wired radio, street loudspeakers and other means of notification.
The last stage will last only a minute from 10:43 to 10:44. At this time, the residents of St. Petersburg will hear the completion of the verification activities and the means of notification that were involved in the course of the comprehensive technical verification.
