The F-15EX Eagle II fighter of the US Air Force (Air Force), considered an analogue of the Russian Su-57, received probably the most powerful radar for this type of aircraft in the world, reports The Drive, citing the developer of the radar station Michelle Styczynski from Raytheon …
In an interview with the publication, the specialist noted that the AN / APG-82 radar with an active phased antenna array (AFAR) from its predecessor, APG-82, is distinguished, in particular, by enhanced capabilities to counter threats emanating from air-to-air missiles and “Ground-to-air”, fewer moving elements, increased reliability and ease of maintenance.
“The APG-82 is the most powerful radar ever, and there is nothing that can match it,” Styczynski said.
In April, the United States Air Force officially named the F-15EX Advanced Eagle, the F-15EX Eagle II, during a ceremony held at Eglin Air Force Base in Florida.
In February, the F-15EX Advanced Eagle, considered the most advanced version of the F-15 Eagle, took off for the first time. The aircraft could become the most armed fighter in the world and will complement the F-35 Lightning II in particularly challenging missions.
