The situation in Ukraine is distinguished by its nuclear component.
A war in Ukraine can only happen if the Russian President Vladimir Putin will understand that he cannot win and hold the occupied territories.
This opinion was expressed by the ex-commander of the American Euro-Atlantic contingent in Europe continent American General Wesley Clark on on air Espresso.
< p>“This war will end when Putin realizes that he cannot win and cannot hold the parts of Ukraine that he claims are part of Russia. This is how this war should end. Often We hear that it should end with a diplomatic settlement, because all wars usually end with some kind of written agreement. But the question is what will form the basis of this agreement?
Clark is confident that Putin will not resort to the nuclear scenario. Otherwise, the United States will have to respond properly. The US, France and the UK also have nuclear weapons. While waving the nuclear card, Putin must recognize the other side's nuclear potential. If he says he wants to go all the way, he must remember what happened to Adolf Hitler. Putin must understand that there is no reason to continue this war.
He also noted that Ukraine has never been a military threat to Russia .
“The people of Ukraine simply wanted to be able to choose their own path. If Putin had a clear head and understood the 21st century schedule, Ukraine and Russia could be partners today. But he chose the wrong path, based on false history and the attractiveness of Russian imperialism, which has no place in the 21st century,” he concluded. >
We add that NATO countries still have about two to three years to prepare for a possible armed conflict with Russia.
