Russian Ambassador Antonov: consultations with the United States in Vienna ended in vain

Representatives of Russia and the United States held bilateral consultations on February 3 on the normalization of the work of embassies. Russian Ambassador to Washington Anatoly Antonov told about their results on the YouTube channel “Solovyov Live”.
According to him, the negotiations ended in vain. Antonov noted that the Russian side has prepared a program aimed at lifting restrictions on the activities of diplomats in the United States and in Russia, restoring the normal activities of diplomatic missions and ending the visa war. “Unfortunately, we received a negative response at these consultations,” the ambassador said.
Earlier, Antonov spoke about the preparation of the United States for the introduction of new sanctions. According to him, there is a consensus in Washington that new restrictions against Russia are needed. At the same time, it is not yet known what exactly they will be, the diplomat noted.
