“With its special design language, the armchair promises a high level of seating comfort. At the same time, it becomes a timeless decorative eye-catcher in an elegant setting that gives rooms a special touch and atmosphere,” was the rationale of the German Design Award 2021 jury, who chose the Amandine armchair by designer Kati Meyer-Brühl was honored with a “Special Mention”.
Crowned throne
The armchair also received the Iconic Award 2020, the Good Design Award 2020 and the German Innovation Award 2020 Special Mention.
Meyer-Brühl developed the armchair in different colors, which can be individually combined depending on the occasion and mood.
The round and upright shapes make Amandine a throne. They bring Empire and Art Nouveau into the room.
“I had specific places in mind, for example the space in a private library or by a fireplace, by an idyllic bay window with a view of a garden or even a hotel lobby,” reports the designer to the KURIER. Meyer-Brühl is the art director of the family business Brühl & Sippold GmbH.
“Brühl stands for environmentally friendly, sustainable furniture that can be used for generations,” says the designer.
