Next week, the trade will be allowed to reopen under strict conditions. In addition to an FFP2 obligation, there is also another major restriction.
On Monday the government announced the new rules that will apply after the third hard lockdown in Austria. A close-knit test strategy, for example for service providers and their customers, is only one cornerstone. As reported, people who want a haircut must present a negative corona test, which must not be older than 48 hours.
As “Today” learned, the regulation will also have special regulations for shops and shopping centers. Although all shops are allowed to reopen their doors after lockdown number three, this is, however, at maximum opening times from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. From 8 p.m., an exit restriction should apply again.
An essential point to minimize the risk of contagion is the limitation of customers, depending on the size of the business. In future, an area of at least 20 square meters should be available per customer. In concrete terms: In a shop with an area of 60 square meters, there will only be three customers in the future. Previously, the limit was one customer per ten square meters. The significantly greater risk of infection from the corona mutations should be taken into account here.
The following applies to shopping centers: an FFP2 mask is compulsory in the entire area, a violation of this can be expensive. Do not linger in general areas. Food and drinks are also not allowed to be consumed within the centers. The customer restriction only affects the individual business branches.
