According to a media report, the US electric car manufacturer Tesla has to temporarily suspend part of its production in California. The employees in the assembly of the Model 3 at the Fremont plant had been informed that the tapes would be stopped from February 22 to March 7, the Bloomberg agency quoted an insider as saying. For part of the lost time, wages should continue to be paid, the rest of the time they should take vacation.
The reason for the production stop was not mentioned in the report. Tesla said last month that the company could be temporarily affected by the global shortage of employees. Production interruptions are not uncommon in the automotive industry. Due to the lack of chips, however, they have been increasing recently.
